Germany, Wehrmacht. An Early Wound Badge, Silver Grade GTRexclude Knight with Crossed Swords -(Verwundetenabzeichen in Silber). Constructed of silvered tombak, the obverse with a central Stahlhelm (Steel Helmet) bearing a mobile swastika on a pebbled field, on top of crossed swords, within an oval laurel wreath, the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, unmarked, measuring 36. 59 mm (w) x 46. 96 (h), weighing 30. 1 grams, loss of silver finish evident, otherwise in very fine condition.
