Why watch the development of GoPxL? New version 1.2 shows the direction of machine vision
GoPxL is an inspection software developed by LMI Technologies, designed to work with Gocator 3D sensors. Unlike traditional tools that often require advanced programming or complex setup, GoPxL builds on simplicity, visual access and high flexibility. It offers an intuitive environment for configuring tools, visualizing results, and direct deployment into production applications.
At AMV Technology, we are actively working with GoPxL. We help customers not only with basic setup, but also with more advanced tasks - whether it's using AI, working with records or integrating with PLCs. The new version 1.2 brings several enhancements that simplify the whole process even further while opening up new possibilities.
What does version 1.2 introduce?
GoPxL 1.2 extends the software's capabilities with key features focused on efficiency, openness and control:
Python GDK
GoPxL now allows you to create your own inspection tools using Python. Users can insert their own algorithms directly into the GoPxL environment, easily test and run them on a variety of devices - whether on a PC, GoMax or Gocator sensor. This option opens the way to deploying open-source AI models (e.g. PyTorch or TensorFlow), while giving full control over how the tool works and where it is used.
Digital Output
The new option of sending digital signals allows GoPxL to be connected to PLCs or external devices. This makes it easy to control actuators, synchronize inspection with motion, or perform system diagnostics during integration.
Quick Edit
The quick edit function temporarily suspends data processing when setting parameters. Only after the changes have been confirmed will the new settings be applied. This reduces the time required for tool tuning and significantly increases the working comfort.
Z-Scale
Z-Scale allows you to visually ‘zoom in’ on specific elevation data (Z-axis), making it easier to analyze detailed structures or small deviations. Particularly useful when working with very flat surfaces or precise tool placement.
Anomaly Detector na PC
Until now, the anomaly detection tool has only been available on GoMax. Now it can be trained and run on a regular PC with NVIDIA GPU. This opens up the possibility to use AI inspection for smaller operations without the need for additional hardware.
Upload records (.gprec)
When working with data uploads, you can now upload either the data itself or the data with the job - without risking overwriting the existing configuration. You'll appreciate this for testing and when sharing data between teams.
GoHMI and UX/UI improvements
GoPxL 1.2 also brings user interface improvements such as:
- new output data display and better navigation in the HMI
- array support
- new keyboard shortcuts
- filtering outputs based on the tool
- administrator login for system security
Where GoPxL makes sense?
Where quick adaptation, easy deployment and technical depth are needed, GoPxL can offer the ideal combination. It requires no lengthy programming, yet is ready for very specific tasks thanks to new capabilities in Python and AI.
Customers deploy it most often in situations where they need to simply visualize sensor data, quickly test a new approach, or create custom inspection logic without the need for firmware intervention. It also has the advantage that one software can handle sensors, PCs and edge devices - without the need for separate tools.
GoPxL in practice: seal height control in production
The benefits of GoPxL are best demonstrated in specific applications where it delivers real results. In one application, we used the Gocator 2670 sensor and GoPxL software to control the seal height of parts in a manufacturing process.
The goal was to ensure that each part met the specified height tolerances without manual inspection or complex programming. With the right sensor, the right lighting, and the GoPxL environment, a robust solution was created with simple operation and fast response to deviations.

GoPxL offers a clear and powerful environment for working with Gocator sensors. Whether for basic inspection tasks or advanced AI solutions. The new version 1.2 brings enhancements that increase flexibility, speed up work and expand deployment options in the field.
As an LMI Technologies partner, we can help you not only with selection and integration, but also with long-term support. If you're considering GoPxL or tackling a specific application, get in touch - we'd be happy to discuss with you what the software can do in your operation.
