What makes PhoXi Gen3 special?
More data = greater accuracy
Gen3 delivers 5.1 megapixels of 3D data, which is 60% more than the previous generation. This allows it to capture fine details and deviations that would otherwise be missed. You will appreciate this when inspecting assembly accuracy, measuring deviations, or guiding a robot based on real shapes.
Color and shape in one
The scanner is equipped with an integrated 8 MP RGB camera, so you get 3D data and a color image in a single shot. This opens up new possibilities: label checking, color difference verification, or even a combination of shape and print without the need for an additional camera.
Scans even challenging surfaces
Gen3 uses a blue laser that can handle even shiny, dark, or transparent materials. Typically rubber, black plastic, or polished metal. Compared to older technologies, it offers up to 2.5 times higher data completeness on these challenging objects.
One scanner for various applications
The scanning range covers a wide spectrum. From detailed inspection at a distance of several tens of centimeters to logistics applications at 6 meters. Gen3 is therefore ideal for bin picking, packaging inspection, or automatic volume measurement.
No markers, no maintenance
The scanner works without the need for markers or reference points. Calibration is simple, and the results are stable and reliable, which significantly reduces maintenance and operating requirements.
Where does PhoXi Gen3 make sense?
The new PhoXi Gen3 can be used in a wide range of applications across manufacturing, logistics, and automation. We draw on real-world scenarios from manufacturing and verified cases from Photoneo/Zebra sources:
- Bin picking – picking parts from containers, robot navigation based on 3D data
- Visual inspection – checking the completeness of assemblies, dimensional deviations, surface defects
- Logistics and warehousing – volume measurement, automatic item recognition, packaging inspection
- Label and print inspection – combination of 3D and color images in a single shot
